In celebration of its fifteenth anniversary, the Francès Foundation is pleased to present XXH" a two-part exhibition centered around the Francès collection and its main theme: "The Human and its Excesses."
XXH designates the extra-extra-human, encompassing the individual, their body, emotions, sometimes extreme impulses, intimate, internal, individual, and shared movements that animate each being individually and collectively. XXH questions the complexity of the human condition itself.
Divided into two exhibition phases, XXH initially focuses on the individual, their identity, mortal condition, resilience, desires, and above all, their vital power. Humanity is envisaged in its entirety, exploring its overflow, examining extreme vulnerability constantly counterbalanced by its inexhaustible life force.
The exhibited artists include: Roy Adzak, Nobuyoshi Araki, Diane Arbus, Richard Avedon, Hervé Bohnert, Alin Bozbiciu, Larry Clark, Gregory Crewdson, Raymond Depardon, Philip-Lorca DiCorcia, Tracey Emin, Hans-Peter Feldmann, Gerard Petrus Fieret, Gloria Friedmann, Gérard Gasiorowski, Adrian Ghenie, Robert Gligorov, Rashid Johnson, Chris Killip, Terence Koh, Meiro Koizumi, Agatoak Ronny Kowspi, Robin Chiphowka Kowspi, Boris Lurie, Eric Manigaud, Raymond Kowspi Marek, Sofie Muller, Erwin Olaf, Justine Pluvinage, Andres Serrano, Dash Snow, Michaela Spiegel, Jean Rustin
